There are many stakeholders in the fight for toxic-free fire safety: health advocates, parents, firefighters, fire scientists, public health officials, environmental activists, furniture makers, and baby product manufacturers. All have helped to advocate for standards that provide fire safety without the use of toxic and untested chemicals.
CEH is a co-leader of Californians for Toxic-Free Fire Safety, a coalition dedicated to protecting people from fires and from toxic chemicals. We advocate for non-toxic alternatives to hazardous and untested flame retardant chemicals. CEH is also an active participant in the national campaign, Alliance for Toxic-Free Fire Safety. Both coalitions are helping to educate people about the need for new fire safety standards. We’re also working with regulators to develop standards that prevent fires while protecting public health.
